This Too Shall Pass

I did not know where to turn or what to do; My life was in turmoil. I tried to fight and hold on and still felt defeated. I felt like I couldn’t hold on any longer. I felt like I couldn’t breath…I wasn’t living, I was just existing. I tried to do right and be right everyday. I tried to overcome every obstacle I was facing and realized I just couldn’t do it on my own. I wanted to give up and I didn’t want to try anymore. I felt like a failure, lost and hopeless and in my despair I cried “Jesus HELP ME!” that’s all I could say. I couldn’t get out any other words but “Jesus, HELP ME!” …and you know what, He did! I’ve heard how people said before “The Lord heard my cry”, but you can never understand until you cry out for Him for yourself. You can come out on the other side with victory. Jesus won’t bring you to anything He won’t bring you through. You can make it and you can take it if you just surrender and let Jesus carry you. Stop trying to do it on your own. You are not designed to carry such burdens. God will help if you open the door to him. Jesus says, Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door. I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelations 3:20). He’s standing there waiting to love you extravagantly. Don’t keep Him waiting any longer, let Him in today and watch Him carry you through. Because what ever your going through…This too shall pass.

Prayer I Asked For

I ask for strength that I might achieve;
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked for health that I might do great things;
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy;
I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I asked for power that I might have the praise of men;
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life;
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.

I got nothing that I asked for,
But everything that I hoped for.

Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered;
I am most richly blessed.
